Toyama Waterfront Film Festival Sphere 2014 Guidelines for Applicants

Toyama Waterfront Film Festival Acting Consortium

1. Public Offering Theme

“Home” Theme

2. Concept

Junji Ito, General Producer, Toyama Waterfront Film FestivalA home to come back someday, a place where you belong, family and friends who welcome you: But our civilization that has gone far ahead of our qualitative progress separates us far from those heart-warming homes. The mushrooming society, infinitely expanding rights and overwhelming energy of competitions even heat up the atmosphere, and waves of global warming swallow your beloved landscapes.
In 1950s, M. McLuhan said that the media was a message, and prepared the time of image network. If we think back now, it might have been a prediction of the flooding of information without quality.
It may be time for us to return to human. Let us return to the earth. Let us return to the nature. Let us connect our warm and calm hearts, in town, in our everyday lives, leaving those pretentious relationships behind.
Toyama Waterfront Film Festival Sphere this year is welcoming such films.
